Racing Incident Report

AWESOME DRAGON was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards stumbled when crowded for room between CHINOOK and WATCHMAN, both of which shifted ground. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, WINNING PATTERN was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of WATCHMAN which itself was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHINOOK (Apprentice K L Chui) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Chui was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. In the early stages, SPACED travelled wide and without cover. At the 1100 Metres and again at the 900 Metres, EVER KING was steadied away from the heels of THAT'S IT. In the middle stages, AWESOME DRAGON improved to race around midfield, however, was wide and without cover. After the 200 Metres, MASTER DREAMER was checked and shifted out when disappointed for running between BUDDIES POWER and SPACED which was carried in by CHINOOK which shifted ground when not properly clear. Shortly after this, SPACED was steadied away from the heels of CHINOOK. Apprentice Chui was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course. At the 100 Metres, AURELIAN was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of EVER KING which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of BUDDIES POWER. MASTER DREAMER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. AWESOME DRAGON and AURELIAN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, MASTER DREAMER was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. A veterinary inspection of AWESOME DRAGON and AURELIAN after the race did not show any significant findings. THAT'S IT and CHINOOK were sent for sampling.
