Racing Incident Report
DR HAENSLER, which was fractious in its stall, lunged forward as the start was effected and broke open the front gates of its stall fractionally ahead of the other gates. DR HAENSLER then began awkwardly and lost ground. SUNRISE LINING began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped BALL OF FIRE. MAJIN BUU began awkwardly and then failed to muster speed in the early stages. Approaching the first turn, SUNRISE LINING hung in and became unbalanced when being straightened. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, AMBITIOUS LEADER was steadied away from the heels of AMBITION. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, DANCING FAITH was crowded for room inside MAJIN BUU which got its head on the side and shifted in. DANCING FAITH then shifted out and caused crowding to MAJIN BUU. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, BEAMING RIVER was steadied away from the heels of A-TACK when racing tight inside RAINBOW EXPRESS which at this time shifted in slightly. After the 600 Metres, BALL OF FIRE was steadied when disappointed for running between DR HAENSLER and AMBITIOUS LEADER. After the 200 Metres, A-TACK shifted wider while being ridden out. Because of this, A Delpech, its rider, changed the whip into his left hand. Close to the winning post, AMBITIOUS LEADER shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of MAJIN BUU. For a considerable distance of the race, AMBITION travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. AMBITION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of AMBITION after the race did not show any significant findings. FLAG FINDER and BALL OF FIRE were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 14 December 2006)
AMBITION, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. AMBITION was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer K W Lui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, AMBITION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
