Racing Incident Report
NAMJONG MONEY was slow to begin. On jumping, MADE IN HONGKONG knuckled. At the 1600 Metres, ZONUS was bumped by MADE IN HONGKONG which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SHINING DAY which at this time also shifted in. No action was taken. ZONUS made the first turn awkwardly and hung out while racing tight between SEA TREASURE and MADE IN HONGKONG. After the 1400 Metres, NAMJONG GOODLUCK became unbalanced when momentarily crowded for room inside SHINING DAY. Shortly after entering the Back Straight, SHINING DAY was bumped by STRAIGHT VICTORY which was racing wide and without cover. F Coetzee (MADE IN HONGKONG) explained the intention had been to ride the horse slightly better than midfield. He said runners to his inside held their position in the early stages of the race which resulted in him being caught wide. He said making the first turn and into the Back Straight MADE IN HONGKONG was reluctant to stride out and because of this he rode his mount along in an endeavour to maintain its position. He said MADE IN HONGKONG after the 1000 Metres travelled more kindly, however, in the Straight failed to respond to his riding. SHINING DAY, BUDDIES POWER and MADE IN HONGKONG were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SHINING DAY, BUDDIES POWER and MADE IN HONGKONG after the race did not show any significant findings. SEA TREASURE and MAGIC TOUCH were sent for sampling.
