Racing Incident Report
PERFECT FEELING was slow to begin. Near the 1100 Metres, SUPER PRINCE lost ground when crowded for room between TURF WARRIOR and SUPER BALL which shifted in away from O DANNY BOY. Apprentice K T Yeung (ALWAYS WELCOME) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of O DANNY BOY, causing that horse to be checked and lose its rightful running. In the circumstances of this case, the Stewards believed it was appropriate for Apprentice Yeung's licence to ride in races be suspended for a period to expire on Thursday 14 December 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Saturday 2 December 2006. At the 500 Metres, SUPER BALL and SUPER PRINCE raced tight inside TURF WARRIOR. Prior to straightening, SUPER PRINCE was checked when crowded for room between TURF WARRIOR which had its head on the side and shifted in and SUPER BALL which shifted out. No action was taken. Shortly after straightening, SUPER BALL was shifted to the outside of PERFECT FEELING to obtain clear running, then after the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of GENERAL KINGY to continue going forward. Over about the final 50 Metres, OURAJA had difficulty obtaining clear running. Throughout the race, O DANNY BOY travelled wide and without cover. DASHING CHAMPION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DASHING CHAMPION after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY WINNER and DILIGENT were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 30 November 2006)
The Veterinary Officer reported that DILIGENT was this morning found to be lame in the right hind foot. Before being allowed to race again, DILIGENT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
