Racing Incident Report

QUALITY-QUALITY, FOREVER RICHES and PURE ALPHA were slow to begin. From a wide barrier, GLOBAL WAY was endeavoured to be taken back in the early stages, however, proved difficult to settle. After the 1200 Metres, MY LANSON was hampered and carried wider by SINOSPIEL which got its head up and shifted out abruptly when being severely checked to avoid the heels of SUDDEN SPLENDOR which itself was steadied to avoid the heels of CHAMP DRAGON which steadied slightly after crossing to race outside the leader. In the circumstances, no action was taken. At the 800 Metres, CHARMING SPEEDY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SINOSPIEL. Approaching the passing the 200 Metres, CHARMING SPEEDY had difficulty obtaining clear running. At the 200 Metres, PACKING WINNER became disunited in its action and lost ground. After the 200 Metres, FOREVER RICHES was shifted out abruptly to obtain clear running. Throughout the race, BARRACUDA travelled wide and without cover. PACKING WINNER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SUDDEN SPLENDOR was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, PACKING WINNER and SUDDEN SPLENDOR were examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said PACKING WINNER had a continuous displacement of the soft palate and an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the trachea of SUDDEN SPLENDOR. Before being allowed to race again, SUDDEN SPLENDOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EASY PUNCH and MEDIC LEGION were sent for sampling.
