Racing Incident Report
On jumping, FIRST BABY shifted out and bumped MULTI-WIN SPIRIT and as a consequence lost ground. TATTENHALL DELIGHT began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 800 Metres, STRAIGHT VICTORY was steadied away from the heels of TATTENHALL DELIGHT which had been ridden along to make up ground and improved inside the heels of BYRON as that horse shifted in. TATTENHALL DELIGHT itself was also steadied. No action was taken. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND hung out. As a consequence of this, SOUND OF SILENCE, which was racing to its outside, was hampered and carried wider. At the 250 Metres, BYRON was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of MULTI-WIN SPIRIT which was giving ground. In the Straight, FIRST BABY hung in. The performance of I'M NO SQUARE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, I'M NO SQUARE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Apprentice C W Wong (SOUND OF SILENCE) explained his mount was inconvenienced at the start when SMARTY FACE shifted out. He said following this SOUND OF SILENCE failed to muster speed despite being ridden along. He said in the middle stages SOUND OF SILENCE was carried wider, however, in the Straight in his opinion was most disappointing. SOUND OF SILENCE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SOUND OF SILENCE after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SOUND OF SILENCE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SOUND OF SILENCE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WIKI WIKI, SMARTY FACE and BYRON were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND had lost its right front plate.
