Racing Incident Report

Prior to entering the track, MEDIC LEGION became fractious and dislodged A Delpech, its rider. MEDIC LEGION began awkwardly, got its head up and then was taken across behind runners. AURELIAN and TATTENHALL DELIGHT were slow to begin. At the 500 Metres, BAUHINIA was hampered and carried wider by AURELIAN (Apprentice H W Lai) which at this time shifted to the outside of CELESTIAL WONDER and then was carried out further by CELESTIAL WONDER which shifted ground after being bumped by TATTENHALL DELIGHT which shifted out when awkward on the heels of HAPPY GO LAGO. Apprentice Lai was told to exercise greater care. SOUND OF SILENCE made the Home Turn awkwardly and shifted wider on the track. At the 400 Metres, TOY QUEST was checked when disappointed for running between SOUND OF SILENCE and CROWNED GEM. After this, TOY QUEST did not obtain clear running until the 200 Metres. After the 200 Metres, CROWNED GEM, which was racing tight outside TOY QUEST, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of HAPPY GO LAGO which shifted in slightly. TATTENHALL DELIGHT, which was following CROWNED GEM, was steadied and shifted in to avoid the heels of that horse. For the major part of the Home Straight, AURELIAN and CELESTIAL WONDER raced tight and made contact on several occasions. TOWERING FEELING and HAPPY GO LAGO were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported STILTON and JOYFUL WORLD had lost their right hind plates.
