Racing Incident Report

CHOICE AND CHANCE was slow into stride. Shortly after the start, NAMJONG GOODLUCK was checked when crowded for room by OKEYDOKEY which shifted in after being bumped by VICTORY WARRIOR. In the early stages, OKEYDOKEY hung in, near the 700 Metres shifted away from VICTORY WARRIOR and caused crowding to MILLION CHASE which as a result was steadied. After the 700 Metres, RACING SPIRIT was left without cover, then making the Home Turn was carried wider by KAISER'S CHOIX. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, CHOICE AND CHANCE was steadied away from the heels of FUNTRAP which was carried in slightly by VICTORY WARRIOR. At the 100 Metres, FUNTRAP, which was giving ground, was checked when crowded for room between VICTORY WARRIOR which shifted in slightly away from CHOICE AND CHANCE and OPERA MAGIC which improved into a narrow run on the inside of FUNTRAP. In the circumstances, no action was taken. NAMJONG GOODLUCK, which was following, was checked and shifted out to avoid the heels of FUNTRAP. D Whyte (OKEYDOKEY) said after being bumped at the start the horse raced ungenerously, in the early stages hung in and did not show its usual speed. He said because of this OKEYDOKEY travelled wide and did not obtain cover until after the 600 Metres when it steadied and shifted in behind RACING SPIRIT. He said in the Straight OKEYDOKEY failed to finish the race off. FUNTRAP and OKEYDOKEY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FUNTRAP and OKEYDOKEY after the race did not show any significant findings. KAISER'S CHOIX, CHOICE AND CHANCE and KEEN FLYER were sent for sampling.
