Racing Incident Report
TOWN OF FIONN was withdrawn on 28.9.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore foot). Before being allowed to race again, TOWN OF FIONN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie on FIGURES was refitted. At the 400 Metres, ART TRADER was bumped and carried wider by FLAMING LAMBORGINI which shifted out into clear running. When placed under pressure after the 300 Metres, SILVER SUN hung out and shifted wider on the track. Throughout the race, HIGH INTELLIGENT travelled wide and without cover. After the race, M Odendaal, the rider of FIGURES, reported the horse felt abnormal in its action in the Home Straight. The performance of FIGURES was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FIGURES will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. D Nikolic (SATURN) said the horse got back in the field as was anticipated it would over the 1400 Metres with a strong speed. He said he was instructed to bring SATURN to the outside in the Home Straight to give the horse a chance of finishing the race off. He said on straightening he was following ART TRADER and FLAMING LAMBORGINI and he felt these horses would carry him forward, however, they did not quicken immediately. He said he gradually worked his way to the outside at the 200 Metres and SATURN then closed the race off nicely. TIBER, FOKINE and FIGURES were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TIBER, FOKINE and FIGURES after the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPEE OWNER, FLAMING LAMBORGINI and HELENE PILLAGING were sent for sampling.
