Racing Incident Report
When being saddled, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR became fractious and as a result lost its left front plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After arriving in the saddling stalls, an adjustment was made to the left front plate of ROYAL DELIGHT. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. SHADOW KNIGHT was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, CHEERFUL MASTER and DR GREEN bumped. After the 800 Metres, JIANG JUN was bumped by DR GREEN which was carried in by CHEERFUL MASTER which shifted ground. After this, JIANG JUN was buffeted for some distance and checked when crowded for room between DR GREEN and SHADOW KNIGHT. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Over the final 400 Metres, ABLE CHOICE was not able to obtain clear running and went to the post untested. Near the 300 Metres, JIANG JUN was steadied and shifted to the inside of CHATEAU KING PRAWN to go forward. At the 250 Metres, CHEERFUL MASTER was steadied away from the heels of ABLE CHOICE which shifted out in an endeavour to find clear running. D Whyte (CHATEAU KING PRAWN) explained approaching the 400 Metres he positioned himself to take a run which was developing between CLASSIC NAVIGATOR and KINGIFLY. He said as he rode forward in an endeavour to take this run, KINGIFLY commenced to shift out slightly as ROYAL DELIGHT improved on its inside. He said because of this he was not able to obtain clear running on CHATEAU KING PRAWN over about the 300 Metres and as a consequence was not able to test the horse. ALINSKY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, it was noted ALINSKY was making an abnormal breathing noise. DR GREEN, ROYAL DELIGHT and JIANG JUN were sent for sampling.
