Racing Incident Report

CONQUEROR began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, CARE FREE PRINCE lost ground after becoming unbalanced when bumping with NOBLE RAIDER. Near the 800 Metres, WORLD SERIES was steadied away from the heels of WONDERFUL BLESSING which got its head on the side and shifted out after being steadied away from the heels of NOBLE RAIDER which was carried wider by OPERA MAGIC which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of JOYFUL WORLD. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, CARE FREE PRINCE was inconvenienced by TOWERING FEELING which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in. TOWERING FEELING also became unbalanced and lost ground, causing some inconvenience to CONQUEROR which was following and to a lesser extent SOHNA. Over the concluding stages, PIONERO hung in. G Mossé (SOHNA), which was racing over the increased distance of 1400 Metres on the first occasion today, said he had been instructed to have the horse switched off to ensure it was able to finish the race off. He said it was felt SOHNA would over-race if ridden forward in the early stages. VITAL PATROL and PIONERO were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of VITAL PATROL and PIONERO after the race did not show any significant findings. WONDERFUL BLESSING, TOWERING FEELING and SOHNA were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 25 September 2006)
VITAL PATROL was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. VITAL PATROL was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Moore this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the right front leg. Before being permitted to race again, VITAL PATROL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
