Racing Incident Report

VINCERE, which had been intended to be ridden in a forward position, was restless in the stalls, slow to begin and then taken across behind runners. SILVER MARK was slow to begin. CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE stumbled on jumping. In the early stages, FORTUNE GOLD travelled wide and without cover and after the 1000 Metres was allowed to stride forward and join the lead. At the 700 Metres, POSA became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside SILVER MARK. Then making the Home Turn, POSA was steadied away from the heels of NATURAL ECHO. For some distance approaching and passing the 300 Metres, SPECIFIC SORCEROR was unable to obtain clear running between FORTUNE GOLD and CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE. SPECIFIC SORCEROR was steadied and shifted to the outside of CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE to go forward. At the 250 Metres, SILVER MARK was shifted out to avoid the heels of FORTUNE GOLD which was giving ground. After the 200 Metres, POSA, which was closing the race off strongly, was checked to avoid the heels of NATURAL ECHO which became unbalanced and shifted in after being bumped by CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE (Apprentice K L Chui). Apprentice Chui was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Also after the 200 Metres, SUPER DANA was steadied when crowded for room inside NOBLE BOSS (F Coetzee). As F Coetzee stopped riding and straightened his mount, no action was taken. SILVER MARK, HAPPY HEROES and SPECIFIC SORCEROR were sent for sampling.
