Racing Incident Report
TACTIC KING was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (skin allergy). Before being allowed to race again, TACTIC KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NOBLE HEART, which was standing with its head turned to the right, was slow to begin. After the 1400 Metres, CLASSIC DELIGHT got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of LEGIONNAIRE. Also after the 1400 Metres, NOBLE HEART was steadied away from the heels of CITY SURFER. At the 600 Metres, CITY SURFER raced tight inside AMSTERDAM. After the 600 Metres, CLASSIC DELIGHT got its head on the side and hung out. Approaching the 200 Metres, GOLD FIELD got its head on the side and shifted wider on the track. Because of this, W C Marwing, its rider, changed the whip into his left hand. In the Straight, ALL CHANCES hung out. F Coetzee (LEGIONNAIRE) was unable to offer an explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said it was his intention if possible to travel one horse away from the rail which he was able to do in the early stages. He said when ALL CHANCES improved to his outside near the 1400 Metres, that horse was travelling better and therefore was able to carry him across to the fence. He said after this LEGIONNAIRE did not ever feel comfortable underneath him and did not respond when asked for an effort in the Straight. LEGIONNAIRE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LEGIONNAIRE after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LEGIONNAIRE, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LEGIONNAIRE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. W M Lai (GO GO VICTORY) said the intention had been to lead on the horse, however, he was not able to do so as SOCRATES which had drawn to his outside was hard ridden to go forward in the early stages. He said GO GO VICTORY travelled only fairly in a trailing position and in the Straight was most disappointing and failed to respond to his riding. GO GO VICTORY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GO GO VICTORY after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GO GO VICTORY, which had been successful at its last two starts, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GO GO VICTORY will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ALL CHANCES and NOBLE HEART were sent for sampling.
