Racing Incident Report
On jumping, WIN AGAIN got its head up. At the 800 Metres, GOODY, which was racing tight inside MY CHOICE, was steadied away from the heels of SUPREME CLASS. After the 400 Metres, MY CHOICE, which was endeavouring to obtain a clear run between TRIUMPHANT UNICORN and GOLD STRIKER, was carried in behind TRIUMPHANT UNICORN by GOLD STRIKER which shifted ground. On several occasions between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres, GOLD STRIKER was bumped by MY CHOICE (Apprentice C W Wong) which shifted out from behind TRIUMPHANT UNICORN to improve on the outside of that horse where there was insufficient room. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and told whilst competitive riding is appreciated, there is a limit to how far one can go in persisting to obtain runs. For the entire Home Straight, SUPREME CLASS was unable to obtain clear running between BOBO WIN and TRIUMPHANT UNICORN. Because of this, SUPREME CLASS went to the line untested. GOODY, which was following SUPREME CLASS, was unable to obtain clear running behind that horse from the 400 Metres until after the 200 Metres. GOODY was then shifted to the outside of SUPREME CLASS, however, over the final 200 Metres was unable to obtain clear running between that horse and MY CHOICE. Because of this, GOODY was not tested. SUPREME CLASS, GOOD PROFIT and TRIUMPHANT UNICORN were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported TRIUMPHANT UNICORN had sustained a laceration to the left hind cannon.
