Racing Incident Report

SUDDEN SPLENDOR was withdrawn on 7.4.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (substantial amount of mucopus in the trachea) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SPECTACULAR HIT (D Dunn). NOBLE BOSS was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, SUDDEN SPLENDOR and NOBLE BOSS will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MA WAN MIRACLE, SPECTACULAR HIT and RED WINE HONEY were slow to begin. POSA began awkwardly and lost ground. DURABLE began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall, then shifted in and bumped RED WINE HONEY. At the 1700 Metres, RIGHT FRAAR became unbalanced when bumped by MA WAN MIRACLE. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, MA WAN MIRACLE was carried wider by DURABLE which shifted out after being crossed by PACIFIC ALLIANCE. Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, POSA was unable to improve when racing behind RED WINE HONEY. At the 600 Metres, SPECIFIC SORCEROR was bumped by MA WAN MIRACLE. After this, MA WAN MIRACLE became unbalanced and gave ground. MA WAN MIRACLE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, MA WAN MIRACLE, which finished tailed out, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. The performance of MA WAN MIRACLE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MA WAN MIRACLE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the 200 Metres, RED WINE HONEY became unbalanced when bumped by SPECIFIC SORCEROR which shifted in. In the Straight, SHOW BRAVELY hung in. RIGHT FRAAR and PACIFIC ALLIANCE were sent for sampling.
