Racing Incident Report

TURF GOLD was slow to begin. SUPER SPECIAL began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. PREMIER BURG was slow to begin and then lost further ground after being bumped by MILLENNIUM SUPREME which shifted out. Shortly after the start, PLEASURE PLEASURE and STAR PRODIGY bumped. At the 1100 Metres, PLEASURE PLEASURE was checked away from the heels of SHINING LIGHT which shifted in when being steadied away from the heels of TIMBER CITY (H K Yim) which shifted ground when not quite clear. At the 1000 Metres, WIN DANCER was steadied away from the heels of TIMBER CITY which shifted in when not clear. When WIN DANCER steadied, GOLD MASTER, which was following, was steadied to avoid the heels of WIN DANCER. H K Yim was severely reprimanded and told to ensure he is properly clear of other runners before crossing. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, PLEASURE PLEASURE, which was proving difficult to settle when close to the heels of SHINING LIGHT which raced wide and without cover throughout, shifted out and bumped TRIUMPHANT GLORY which was also racing wide and without cover. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, BAYVIEW LAD, which had been steadied away from the heels of SUPER SPECIAL, hung out. At the 800 Metres, MILLENNIUM SUPREME was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of BAYVIEW LAD. On straightening, MILLENNIUM SUPREME was steadied when awkwardly placed behind BAYVIEW LAD and inside the hindquarters of PREMIER BURG. At the 400 Metres, PREMIER BURG, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of GOLD MASTER. After the 400 Metres, when being shifted out to obtain clear running, MILLENNIUM SUPREME was steadied away from the heels of PREMIER BURG. Also after the 400 Metres, BE MY BRIDE was checked to avoid the heels of PLEASURE PLEASURE which was steadied when crowded for room between TRIUMPHANT GLORY and SHINING LIGHT which after having shifted in and made contact with WIN DANCER then shifted out. No action was taken. After this, BE MY BRIDE was held up and unable to improve for some distance. Near the 200 Metres, SHINING LIGHT and GOLD MASTER bumped. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, SUPER SPECIAL had difficulty obtaining clear running, then at the 50 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of GOLD MASTER which shifted to the inside of TRIUMPHANT GLORY. After the 200 Metres, PREMIER BURG, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted to the outside of SUPER SPECIAL. BE MY BRIDE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, BE MY BRIDE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BE MY BRIDE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER SPECIAL and SHINING LIGHT were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER SPECIAL and SHINING LIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings. TURF GOLD and PLEASURE PLEASURE were sent for sampling. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on BAYVIEW LAD at the request of the trainer. The Veterinary Officer said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BAYVIEW LAD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
