Racing Incident Report
MASTERY and COSMO SUCCESS were slow to begin. On jumping, HEALTHY WEALTHY blundered. Shortly after the start, SUPER WONGCHOY was steadied when crowded for room between DYNAMIC FUN and HEALTHY WEALTHY which shifted in. Near the 1700 Metres, WINNING KEVIN raced tight inside SUCCESSIVE GAINS which at this time was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GREENESSY which was racing tight inside FAMOUS DANCER. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SUPER WONGCHOY and COSMO SUCCESS raced tight. S Sanders (HEALTHY WEALTHY) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the winning post on the first occasion he shifted in when not clear of GREENESSY, causing that horse to lose its rightful running and be checked. In the circumstances of this case, the Stewards believed the appropriate penalty was for S Sanders to be suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 20 February 2006 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Saturday 11 February 2006. In addition, S Sanders was fined $10,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 1 further raceday. When GREENESSY checked, FAMOUS DANCER, which was following, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse and shifted in, causing crowding on its inside to WINNING KEVIN which as a result was checked severely. When WINNING KEVIN checked, some inconvenience was caused to COSMO SUCCESS. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, HEALTHY WEALTHY got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of DYNAMIC FUN. At the 400 Metres, GREENESSY was shifted to the outside of HEALTHY WEALTHY which at this time commenced to give ground. After the 200 Metres, WINNING KEVIN was shifted to the outside of GREENESSY into clear running. At the winning post, DYNAMIC FUN and FAMOUS DANCER bumped. COSMO SUCCESS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of COSMO SUCCESS after the race did not show any significant findings. GREENESSY, FAMOUS DANCER and DYNAMIC FUN were sent for sampling.
