Racing Incident Report

NATURAL NINE was slow to begin. JOIN VICTORY began awkwardly, then got its head up and was taken across behind runners. TELECOM TYCOON began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped EAST OCEAN DRAGON. On jumping, MUTUAL GAIN and SHOW BRAVELY bumped. MASTER ABLE began awkwardly, got its head up and then shortly afterwards lost further ground when steadied away from the heels of LORD CAIRNS. At the 1500 Metres, MASTER ABLE, which was shifting in across behind runners, was steadied away from the heels of SHOW BRAVELY. At the 900 Metres, LORD CAIRNS, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of MUTUAL GAIN. FEEL-SO-GOOD made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly and was steadied away from the heels of NATURAL NINE. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, MASTER ABLE got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of NATURAL NINE. At the 600 Metres, GOOD VIEW SUCCESS was steadied away from the heels of LORD CAIRNS. Also at the 600 Metres, SHOW BRAVELY was steadied when awkwardly placed between JOIN VICTORY and FEEL-SO-GOOD. On straightening, GOOD VIEW SUCCESS got its head on the side, shifted in and bumped LORD CAIRNS which at this time was shifting out. As a consequence, both horses became unbalanced. From the 400 Metres until the 200 Metres, MASTER ABLE was held up and unable to improve when racing behind TELECOM TYCOON and G-ONE LEADING. After the 400 Metres, NATURAL NINE had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of AMBITIOUS MARJU which was giving ground. Following this until after the 200 Metres, NATURAL NINE continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running behind EAST OCEAN DRAGON. At the 200 Metres, G-ONE LEADING, which had some difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied when crowded for room inside TELECOM TYCOON which was carried in slightly by EAST OCEAN DRAGON. No action was taken. Prior to the winning post, MASTER ABLE was steadied away from the heels of EAST OCEAN DRAGON. For the major part of the Home Straight, SHOW BRAVELY, which was closing the race off strongly, hung in. In the Straight, LORD CAIRNS hung in. Throughout the race, AMBITIOUS MARJU raced wide and without cover and in the early and middle stages proved difficult to settle. MASTER ABLE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, MASTER ABLE was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER ABLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOOD VIEW SUCCESS and RED WINE HONEY were sent for sampling.
