Racing Incident Report
When being saddled, PALETTE NATURAL shifted its left hind plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. CHEEKY was slow to begin and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of DR WELL. STAY YOUNG bounded in the air at the start and on landing stumbled. LIGHTNING STAR was slow to begin. From the outside barrier, SELF FLIT was steadied and taken back across behind runners to a position with cover. After the 1400 Metres, SAN LORENZO, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of STAY YOUNG which shifted out abruptly which caused inconvenience to PALETTE NATURAL which was carried wider. Making the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, GOOD PROFIT was held up and unable to improve. Near the 350 Metres, BEING FAMOUS was momentarily awkwardly placed between LUCKY GOOD DAY and AGILITY. From the 300 Metres until after the 100 Metres, FIVE GRAINS was held up and unable to improve. Over the final 200 Metres, STAY YOUNG hung out. At the 100 Metres, CHEEKY was shifted out away from the heels of DR WELL. Over the concluding stages, LIGHTNING STAR hung in. Throughout the race, DR WELL travelled wide and without cover. HAPPEE OWNER and LIGHTNING STAR were sent for sampling.
