Racing Incident Report

LOYAL KNIGHT lifted its front feet off the ground as the gates opened and as a consequence lost ground. SANBENITO and SIKANDER were slow to begin. BEST LUCK began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall, then stumbled and as a consequence lost ground. With the intention of being ridden in a rearward position from the outside barrier, PHANTOM THIEF threw its head about on jumping and then was taken across behind runners. At the 900 Metres, ALL'S WELL was steadied away from the heels of SHARKI which at this time was steadied away from the heels of LIBERAL'S KNIGHT which shifted to a two wide position. When ALL'S WELL was steadied, it shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to SIKANDER which at the 800 Metres became unbalanced and bumped the running rail. After this, SIKANDER shifted out and bumped ALL'S WELL which as a result shifted ground across the running of SUNNY SING, causing that horse to be checked. Approaching the turn at the 800 Metres, LOYAL KNIGHT hung in badly, then made the turn awkwardly and caused some inconvenience to PHANTOM THIEF. Before the 600 Metres, SUNNY SING was bumped by ALL'S WELL. After this, ALL'S WELL was held up and unable to improve behind SHARKI and inside SUNNY SING. At the 500 Metres, BEST LUCK was steadied when awkwardly placed between GREAT DELIGHT and LIBERAL'S KNIGHT. On straightening, SHARKI was crowded for room between BEST LUCK and WEALTHY TREASURE. Near the 300 Metres, PHANTOM THIEF was brushed and carried wider by ALL'S WELL which at this time was shifting to the outside of SUNNY SING to obtain clear running. In the Straight, SANBENITO hung in. Over the concluding stages, PHANTOM THIEF hung in. Throughout the race, GIANFANTI raced wide and without cover. GREAT DELIGHT was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported GREAT DELIGHT had bled from both nostrils. ALL'S WELL, SUNNY SING and BOBO WIN were sent for sampling.
