Racing Incident Report

TURF GOLD was slow to begin, then began awkwardly and as a consequence lost ground. CONSTELLATION and FREE WAY were slow to begin. At the 600 Metres, WISDOM EXPRESS was checked when crowded for room between HEALTHY FRUITS which shifted in slightly and SILLY BOY which at this time was carried out slightly by CONSTELLATION. RARE COLLECTION, which was following WISDOM EXPRESS, was hampered in consequence. In the circumstances, no action was taken. On straightening, CONSTELLATION, which was racing tight inside THUNDER STORM, was shifted to the inside of HORACE'S HORSE. In the Straight, WISDOM EXPRESS hung in and after the 200 Metres came together with HEALTHY FRUITS. Over about the final 100 Metres, TURF GOLD had difficulty obtaining clear running and prior to the winning post was steadied when close to the heels of CONSTELLATION and WYNDAM PLENTY. Because of this, TURF GOLD was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Just prior to the winning post, WYNDAM PLENTY and CONSTELLATION were crowded for room between FORTUNE MAPLE and HORACE'S HORSE which shifted in slightly. Because of this, neither WYNDAM PLENTY nor CONSTELLATION were ridden right out to the line as they normally would be. C Munce (FLASH MAC) said the intention had been to have the horse around midfield. He said FLASH MAC began on terms, shifted out and made contact with HEALTHY FRUITS. He said after this FLASH MAC in his opinion was not positioned to go forward and he therefore allowed it to come back and shift across behind runners. He said after the 700 Metres he commenced to improve his position, then making the turn at the 600 Metres he was obliged to steady when awkwardly placed between TURF GOLD and RARE COLLECTION. He said after this FLASH MAC raced awkwardly with its head on the side when placed inside the heels of WISDOM EXPRESS, then on straightening FLASH MAC shifted in and it appeared unbalanced in its action. CONSTELLATION, HORACE'S HORSE and THUNDER STORM were sent for sampling.
