Racing Incident Report

MAXIMUS began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of LUCKY YEARS. Shortly after the start, WINNING RONGRONG was bumped by WE'RE BUDDIES which shifted in. A short distance later, WINNING RONGRONG was again steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DASH FOR VICTORIES. Making the turn at the 2000 Metres, ONE EYE JACK was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of DASH FOR VICTORIES which got its head on the side and shifted in away from HARVEST GALA. From the outside barrier, in the early stages, SPEED WINNER raced wide and without cover, then after the 1800 Metres was allowed to stride forward and cross to the lead at the 1400 Metres. After the 1800 Metres, RED FORTUNE, which was over-racing and proving difficult to settle, was steadied when awkwardly placed between LUCKY BIRD and THAT'S IT. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, THAT'S IT, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head on the side and hung out. In the middle stages, WE'RE BUDDIES and WINNING RONGRONG raced wide and without cover and then after the 800 Metres both horses went forward to race outside the lead. At the 800 Metres, RED FORTUNE became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of THAT'S IT which itself became unbalanced when close to the heels of ONE EYE JACK. In the early part of the Straight, LUCKY BIRD had difficulty obtaining clear running behind MAXIMUS, then at the 250 Metres was shifted out, continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running and at the 150 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of LUCKY YEARS to obtain a run. SPEED WINNER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SPEED WINNER after the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING RONGRONG, ONE EYE JACK and LUCKY YEARS were sent for sampling.
