Racing Incident Report

Apprentice H W Lai (BULLET TRAIN) was fined $2,000 for presenting himself in the Parade Ring with the incorrect cloth cap to his colours. CHERISHED began awkwardly, got its head up, shifted in and bumped the inside gate of its stall. BULLET TRAIN began awkwardly and shortly afterwards stumbled. SUPER FIGHTER began awkwardly, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of TELECOM SUPERBOSS. For some distance after the 1000 Metres, FUNTRAP was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEALTHY FRUITS. Shortly after straightening, KAO AND MING and SOUTHERN LIGHT bumped as SOUTHERN LIGHT endeavoured to shift to the outside of FUNTRAP to obtain clear running. Also shortly after straightening, FUNTRAP got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of HEALTHY FRUITS. Then over the concluding stages FUNTRAP hung in, proved difficult to ride and near the winning post shifted in and made contact with KING PALM. Because of this, FUNTRAP was not ridden out to the line as it normally would be. At the 250 Metres, TRIUMPHANT GLORY was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of KAO AND MING. For a considerable distance after 200 Metres, SOUTHERN LIGHT and KAO AND MING raced tight as SOUTHERN LIGHT endeavoured to improve on the inside of KAO AND MING. Prior to the winning post, SOUTHERN LIGHT was momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of KAO AND MING which shifted in when not properly clear. TELECOM SUPERBOSS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TELECOM SUPERBOSS after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of TELECOM SUPERBOSS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, TELECOM SUPERBOSS will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FUNTRAP, SUPER FIGHTER and CHERISHED were sent for sampling.
