Racing Incident Report
HARVEST was withdrawn on 2.12.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right fore infection) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PRO JOY (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, HARVEST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, Apprentice P H Lo, the rider of LIGHTING THE WORLD, expressed concern over the horse's action. LIGHTING THE WORLD was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race. METRO LEADER and PRO JOY were slow to begin. MAXIMUM JOY was a little slow to begin, then lost further ground after making contact with the hindquarters of STORMY which shifted out. At the 800 Metres, METRO LEADER was crowded for room inside STORMY which got its head up and shifted in. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, STORMY was awkwardly placed outside METRO LEADER which hung out. Near the 100 Metres, GOLDEN MILE was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside LIGHTING THE WORLD which when ridden out got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Apprentice P H Lo then stopped riding and straightened. The Stewards advised Apprentice Lo to exercise care. For the major part of the race, MAXIMUM JOY raced wide and without cover. SILLY BOY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SILLY BOY after the race did not show any significant findings. GOLDEN MILE, LIGHTING THE WORLD and TRIUMPHANT GLORY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted LIGHTING THE WORLD had lost the right front plate.
