Racing Incident Report
PROGRESSING TIMES was withdrawn on 22.11.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FOREVER WIN (Apprentice P H Lo). Before being allowed to race again, PROGRESSING TIMES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FOREVER WIN got its head up at the start, was taken behind runners and shifted in to a position closer to the rail but at the rear. After being crossed by MR COOL near the 1200 Metres, LIAOBUQI commenced to over-race, was checked off the heels of that horse and shifted out, resulting in LIAOBUQI and HAPPY KID bumping. When LIAOBUQI shifted out, SUPER FANTASY improved to its inside, resulting in both LIAOBUQI and HAPPY KID having to race wide. HAPPY KID was then allowed to stride forward and race outside of the leader TABBRIS. LIAOBUQI was then obliged to race three wide without cover for the remainder of the race. Passing the 1200 Metres, MULTI MILLIONS was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DOUBLE HAPPINESS. Passing the 900 Metres, VITAL PATROL got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly, resulting in EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT being steadied when crowded for room. Near the 800 Metres, ELEPHANT DANCE was taken out slightly by VITAL PATROL. DON RICARDO, which was following, then improved to the inside of ELEPHANT DANCE, resulting in ELEPHANT DANCE racing three wide for the remainder of the race. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, MR COOL raced tight between DOUBLE HAPPINESS and LIAOBUQI which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Approaching the 400 Metres, FOREVER WIN threw its head in the air on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT. Shortly after entering the Straight, SUPER FANTASY was obliged to alter course to the inside of MR COOL when disappointed a run between that horse and LIAOBUQI, both of which shifted ground. Passing the 400 Metres, SUPER FANTASY was held up when racing close to the heels of LIAOBUQI. Passing the 200 Metres, FOREVER WIN was inconvenienced when disappointed for running between DOUBLE HAPPINESS and EASTKOWLOON SPIRIT. FOREVER WIN was then shifted to the inside of DOUBLE HAPPINESS to continue improving. MR COOL, TABBRIS and LIAOBUQI were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of MR COOL and LIAOBUQI after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, TABBRIS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TABBRIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. MULTI MILLIONS and SUPER FANTASY were sent for sampling.
