Racing Incident Report

BEST POWER, which kicked a rail in the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon on arrival at the Start. He said the horse was suitable to race. AMO, which was fractious in the stalls, began awkwardly. HARMONY jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped TAKING THE LEAD. A short distance later, TAKING THE LEAD and HARMONY were crowded for room by DANHERO which shifted in. From a gate towards the outside, BEST POWER, which jumped awkwardly, was steadied and taken across behind runners but at the rear. Shortly after the start, EASY PUNCH got its head up when racing between SUNRISE RAINBOW and I'M NO SQUARE which shifted in. Making the first turn at the 1000 Metres, BEAUTY PLUS raced tight inside DANHERO which shifted in away from SAND DANCE. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, DANHERO and BEAUTY PLUS bumped due to both horses shifting ground. HARMONY, which was following BEAUTY PLUS, shifted in and brushed the running rail at this point. Passing the 500 Metres and making the Home Turn, AMO got its head on the side when being checked off the heels of UPBEAT. In this incident, AMO shifted in and hampered SUNRISE RAINBOW. Making the Home Turn, BEST POWER was steadied and shifted out of the heels of I'M NO SQUARE. Throughout the race, I'M NO SQUARE raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. HARMONY and BEAUTY PLUS were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported UPBEAT had bled from both nostrils.
