Racing Incident Report
HUANG PU DRAGON was slow to begin. CROISSANT began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of KING PALM. PEACH BLOSSOM and FLAG FINDER were checked on jumping when crowded for room between REUNION which shifted out and HAPPY SUNDAY which shifted in. TERRAFERMA and SKY HIGH bumped at the start. Near the 800 Metres, HUANG PU DRAGON became unbalanced. Passing the 200 Metres, GRASS HOPPER was inconvenienced when REUNION shifted out under pressure. Over the concluding stages, KING PALM, which had been inclined to get its head on the side and lay out, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRASS HOPPER. HUANG PU DRAGON was inclined to lay in under pressure in the Straight. Throughout the race, TERRAFERMA raced wide and without cover. When questioned, S Dye (GRASS HOPPER) said he had been instructed to lead if nothing else went forward, but to take a sit rather than be caught in a speed battle. He said he rode GRASS HOPPER out of the barriers and it soon became apparent to him that REUNION and HAPPY SUNDAY were pressing forward to his outside, so he elected to take a sit and follow REUNION in the run. REUNION and SUPREME CLASS were sent for sampling.
