Racing Incident Report
TCHAIKOVSKY was withdrawn on 19.11.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DAVE'S BEST (D Dunn). Before being allowed to race again, TCHAIKOVSKY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SAMBUCA began awkwardly. On jumping, WEALTHY got its head up. SCINTILLATION was slow to begin, then was ridden along to make up ground, commenced to over-race and proved very difficult to settle, at the 800 Metres got its head on the side, shifted in and caused crowding to THE DUKE which as a result was checked. TOWN OF FIONN and DAVE'S BEST, which were following, were hampered in consequence. Shortly after the start, RIVER DANCER was steadied when crowded for room inside CHEEKY which shifted in slightly. In the early stages, due to the pace, SPECIAL KING PRAWN proved very difficult to settle, at the 1300 Metres shifted out to race without cover and then pulled its way forward to race in the lead. At the 1200 Metres, TIBER was momentarily steadied away from the heels of HIGH INTELLIGENT. On straightening, SCINTILLATION was steadied when disappointed for running between PERFECT PARTNER and SAMBUCA. For some distance after this, SCINTILLATION remained awkwardly placed close to the heels of PERFECT PARTNER, then hung in when being ridden out. At the 150 Metres, THE DUKE was steadied to avoid the heels of HIGH INTELLIGENT which shifted out. Near the 100 Metres, GEM OF INDIA, which was closing the race off fairly, was shifted to the outside of TIBER to continue going forward. In the Straight, TIBER hung out. Throughout the race, CHEEKY and SAMBUCA raced wide and without cover. SAMBUCA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SAMBUCA after the race did not show any significant findings. DAVE'S BEST and BULLISH LUCK were sent for sampling.
