Racing Incident Report
STAR OF NORTHERN began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped FAST TRACK. FILEBO was slow to begin and shortly afterwards became unbalanced when steadied away from the heels of BOREAS which shifted in after being bumped by TIMBER CITY. After this, TIMBER CITY shifted ground when bumped by BOREAS, as a result of which inconvenience was caused to SPOKESMAN which from its outside barrier was then steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position close to the rail. After the 1500 Metres, CENTURY SUPER STAR and CHARMING SPEEDY were crowded for room inside SEVEN STARS which got its head on the side and shifted in away from VITALITY CHAMP. After this for some distance, both CHARMING SPEEDY and SEVEN STARS proved difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, CHARMING SPEEDY shifted out away from the heels of WINNING RONGRONG. As a consequence of this, STAR OF NORTHERN was hampered and carried wider. On straightening, SPOKESMAN, which was being steadied and shifted out to obtain clear running, bumped STAR OF NORTHERN on two occasions, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Also on straightening, WINNING RONGRONG, which was attempting to improve between BOREAS and FILEBO where there was insufficient room, was checked when disappointed for this run after both BOREAS and FILEBO shifted ground. SEVEN STARS, which was shifting out in an endeavour to find clear running, was checked to avoid the heels of WINNING RONGRONG in consequence. After the 400 Metres, BOREAS became unbalanced when bumped by VITALITY CHAMP which at this time shifted to the outside of TIMBER CITY into clear running. Near the 300 Metres, BOREAS was bumped by FILEBO which when giving ground hung in and proved difficult to ride. Passing the 200 Metres, FAST TRACK, which was closing the race off, was held up and unable to improve between TELECOM TYCOON and TIMBER CITY, both of which were giving ground. VITALITY CHAMP and CENTURY SUPER STAR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported CHARMING SPEEDY had lost its left front plate.
