Racing Incident Report

CLASSA FOR EVER began awkwardly and lost ground, then for the major part of the race travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. EVERY TIME was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE, which was being restrained to obtain a position with cover, was checked when momentarily crowded for room inside SUNNY SING which was racing tight inside JOLLY GAINS which in turn got its head on the side and shifted in away from GENERAL KINGY which shifted in when barely clear. In the circumstances, it was considered not appropriate to proceed with any action. Near the 900 Metres, HONOUR SUPREME was checked when crowded for room inside JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE (S Dye) which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. S Dye was reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to prevent his mount from shifting ground. In the middle stages, KIDDYLAND proved very difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up. Also in the middle stages, BRAINS TRUST proved difficult to settle. Near the 100 Metres, HONOUR SUPREME was shifted in away from the heels of GENERAL KINGY which was giving ground. JOLLY GAINS and CLASSA FOR EVER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, JOLLY GAINS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat. Before being permitted to race again, JOLLY GAINS will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of CLASSA FOR EVER after the race did not show any significant findings. SUNNY SING, EVERY TIME and BRAINS TRUST were sent for sampling.
