Racing Incident Report

LUCKY SIXER was withdrawn on 1.10.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY SIXER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CLASSIC DELIGHT began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 1400 Metres, PRETTY TRIO was checked to avoid the heels of HEALTHY WEALTHY (Apprentice P H Lo) which when being steadied to allow EQUATOR KID to cross shifted in. Apprentice Lo was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure he is properly clear of other runners before shifting ground. Over about the final 800 Metres, PRETTY TRIO raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. After the 400 Metres, CLASSIC DELIGHT was steadied and shifted to the inside of PRETTY TRIO to obtain clear running, then near the 300 Metres bumped PRETTY TRIO when being shifted to the outside of HEALTHY WEALTHY to continued going forward. The performance of HEALTHY WEALTHY, which finished distanced, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HEALTHY WEALTHY will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PRETTY TRIO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, PRETTY TRIO was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, PRETTY TRIO will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CALIFORNIASUNSHINE and LEILATI were sent for sampling.
