Racing Incident Report

WYNDAM EASY was withdrawn on 6.6.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (horse death) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MONEY STRONG (Y T Cheng). THE KING was slow to begin. DASHING CHAMPION shifted out at the start, hampering KING OF FISH. After this, KING OF FISH failed to muster speed and consequently raced back in the field. EGYPTIAN RA began awkwardly. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, EGYPTIAN RA got its head in the air when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FAMOUS DANCER. On two occasions near the 1100 Metres, EGYPTIAN RA, which was racing keenly, was checked away from the heels of CALIFORNIA BISHOP. Near the 900 Metres, EGYPTIAN RA got its head on the side and shifted in, resulting in FIGHTING MASCOT being crowded for room. Passing the 600 Metres, EGYPTIAN RA, which was reluctant to hold its position, was checked when momentarily crowded for room between FIGHTING MASCOT and FAMOUS DANCER which shifted in marginally. At the entrance to the Straight, KING OF FISH was taken wider by CHEEKY which shifted out to obtain clear running. Near the 300 Metres, DAVE'S BEST hung in. Near the 200 Metres, FAMOUS DANCER shifted in abruptly, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten. FAMOUS DANCER and CALIFORNIA BISHOP were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FAMOUS DANCER after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, CALIFORNIA BISHOP was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had a cut to the left hind heel. FRUITY FRUITY and MONEY STRONG were sent for sampling.
