Racing Incident Report
DANSKE VERY MUCH was withdrawn on 20.5.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NATIVE LANGUAGE (Apprentice C K Tong). Before being allowed to race again, DANSKE VERY MUCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PLENTY OF HEART was slow to begin. TELECOM SUPERBOSS was slow into stride. On jumping, HAPPY TOGETHER, NATIVE LANGUAGE and ABLE MARS were hampered and carried wider by GOOD NATURE which shifted out. WINNING RONGRONG, which was having its first start for a new stable today and was drawn the outside gate, shortly after the start was steadied and shifted across behind runners but at the rear. Near the 1000 Metres, NATIVE LANGUAGE became unbalanced when crowded for room between MAGNIFICENT and HAPPY TOGETHER which shifted in. After the 1000 Metres, HEALTHY FRUITS became unbalanced, shifted in and bumped SOLAR POWER. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, GOOD NATURE got its head on the side and hung out. This allowed TELECOM SUPERBOSS on its inside to shift out. As a consequence, GOOD NATURE raced four wide outside the lead and without cover while continuing to hang. Prior to straightening, WINNING RONGRONG was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of SIMPLY THE BEST which was carried wider by NATIVE LANGUAGE. At the 400 Metres, FORTUNE WARRIOR, which had been held up for clear running, became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of HEALTHY FRUITS which when giving ground shifted out. After the 300 Metres, SOLAR POWER was brushed by TELECOM SUPERBOSS which shifted in. In the Straight, WINNING RONGRONG hung in and proved difficult to ride. For the major part of the race, SIMPLY THE BEST travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the performance of GOOD NATURE, S Dye said after beginning awkwardly and shifting out resulting in him making contact with ABLE MARS, the horse initially travelled satisfactorily. He said he went forward and when racing three wide GOOD NATURE made the first turn awkwardly. He said from this point of the race GOOD NATURE travelled ungenerously and before straightening commenced to give ground. He said he was not able to offer any explanation for the performance of GOOD NATURE, but he did point out the horse's only other start on rain affected going which was at Happy Valley also resulted in a disappointing performance. GOOD NATURE and HEALTHY FRUITS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported GOOD NATURE had lost its right front plate. Also after the race, HEALTHY FRUITS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was displaying an irregular heart beat. Before being allowed to race again, HEALTHY FRUITS will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FORTUNE WARRIOR, SOLAR POWER and GO GO VICTORY were sent for sampling.
