Racing Incident Report
On jumping, TOUCH DOWN was immediately steadied and shifted back behind runners to a position on the rail. PURPLE GOLD was slow to begin. RED BARON began awkwardly and was then steadied away from the hindquarters of LIVERBIRD. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, RIGHT CHOICE was steadied away from the heels of GO GO VICTORY which at this time was being steadied to allow UPPA HAND to come across. After this, GO GO VICTORY was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of UPPA HAND. Near the 1300 Metres, RED BARON became unbalanced when tight inside A BETTER DRAGON. Near the 1200 Metres, BRAVE COMMANDER got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of RIGHT CHOICE. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, RIGHT CHOICE got its head on the side and commenced to hang in. RIGHT CHOICE continued to hang in during the middle stages when racing tight inside BRAVE COMMANDER and making the turn at the 600 Metres shifted ground and bumped the hindquarters of LIVERBIRD. This caused some inconvenience to RED BARON which was following. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, HAPPY KID was carried wider by GO GO VICTORY which changed legs and shifted out. Over about the last 200 Metres, LIVERBIRD was held up and unable to improve between UPPA HAND and GO GO VICTORY. Because of this, LIVERBIRD was not properly tested. At the 200 Metres, EASY GAME was shifted to the outside of TOUCH DOWN into clear running, then over the concluding stages was carried wider by that horse. D Whyte (RIGHT CHOICE) explained as a result of racing tight inside BRAVE COMMANDER for the majority of the race his mount would not relax and appeared uncomfortable. He said because of this in the Straight when asked for a finishing effort RIGHT CHOICE failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. RIGHT CHOICE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. BRAVE COMMANDER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of RIGHT CHOICE and BRAVE COMMANDER after the race did not show any significant findings. EASY GAME and TOUCH DOWN were sent for sampling.
