Racing Incident Report

SUN AND ZAMEEN began awkwardly and lost ground. DRAGON BOOM was slow to begin. ABORIGINAL began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall, dipped and lost ground. Near the 800 Metres, ABORIGINAL became unbalanced and bumped the running rail when tightened for room inside KAO AND MING which itself became unbalanced and shifted in after being brushed by STEPS AHEAD which was momentarily carried in by HAR HAR CHARMS. SUN AND ZAMEEN, which was following KAO AND MING, was checked in consequence. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, ABORIGINAL was checked severely when crowded for room inside KAO AND MING (S Dye) which after initially being carried in by STRAWBERRY KISSES got its head on the side and shifted in further away from that horse. While the check to ABORIGINAL was one of some significance, having in mind all the circumstances, the Stewards did not take any direct action, however, S Dye was advised to ensure he at all times does his utmost to protect his fellow riders. After the 400 Metres, ABORIGINAL was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of KAO AND MING. Over the concluding stages, HAR HAR CHARMS raced tight inside STEPS AHEAD. FANTASTICO and SUN AND ZAMEEN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, FANTASTICO was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had sustained a laceration to the left hind leg in the area of the tendon. A veterinary inspection of SUN AND ZAMEEN after the race did not show any significant findings. DRAGON HORSE and CHAMP DE UNION were sent for sampling.
