Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, it was noted NATURAL MODEL had its tongue over the bit. This was rectified before the horse was loaded. As the start was effected, KING OF TURBOT lunged forward and broke open its gate momentarily before the other gates opened. Then in the early stages, KING OF TURBOT hung in. On jumping, SUPER MARKSMAN was bumped by SPECTACULAR TIMES which shifted in. Shortly after this, SPECTACULAR TIMES and SUPER MARKSMAN were crowded for room between WIN FOR ABALONE which shifted out and NATURAL MODEL which shifted in. When being crowded for room, SPECTACULAR TIMES struck the heels of NATURAL MODEL and blundered. STORMY RUNNER began awkwardly. SMILING FOREST was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, FIRST ON was bumped by SMILING FOREST which when proving difficult to settle became unbalanced and shifted out away from the heels of WIN HUNTER. After the 100 Metres, KING OF TURBOT got its head on the side, shifted in and bumped SMILING FOREST. In the Straight, SPECTACULAR TIMES shifted ground on a number of occasions and proved difficult to ride, obliging Apprentice P H Lo on a number of occasions to stop riding and straighten, then near the winning post was carried out by SUPER MARKSMAN. WIN FOR ABALONE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WIN FOR ABALONE after the race did not show any significant findings. TELEPRIDE, WIN HUNTER and DYNAMIC COMBO were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported FIRST ON had sustained an abrasion to the left front fetlock.
