Racing Incident Report
THE VASE was slow to begin and shortly afterwards became unbalanced. Shortly after the start, STORMY was steadied when crowded for room between ALL FIT and EVEREST. Near the 800 Metres, THE VASE was steadied away from the heels of DOUCAI which was steadied away from the heels of EVEREST (D Whyte) which shifted in when not properly clear. D Whyte was advised to ensure he is properly clear of other runners before shifting across their running. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, WYNDHAM PROFIT was carried wider by STORMY which got its head on the side and hung out. Also making the turn at the 700 Metres, ALL FIT got its head up and hung out. In the middle stages, FAT DRAGON hung out. Making the Home Turn, DOUCAI, which was endeavouring to shift out to obtain clear running, raced tight inside OPERA MAGIC. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied the riding of B Prebble (FAT DRAGON) over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he was reminded of his responsibility to ride his mounts out right to the winning post at least hands and heels where possible. GENKI KING and OPERA MAGIC were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported WISHING WELL had lost its left front plate.
