Racing Incident Report

STEP FORWARD was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, STEP FORWARD will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. As the gates opened, STEP FORWARD got its head up, began awkwardly and lost ground. CITY GLORY was slow to begin. DONGGUAN VICTORY began awkwardly. Making the Home Turn, STEP FORWARD was held up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SPECIFIC SORCEROR, then in the Straight hung out. Also making the Home Turn, WATCHMAN hung out. Shortly after the 400 Metres, SUNDAY DELIGHT shifted in abruptly and was steadied away from the heels of WATCHMAN. Near the 350 Metres, DOUBLE PLEASURE, which was attempting to improve between WATCHMAN and WINNING RONGRONG, was crowded for room as WINNING RONGRONG got its head on the side and shifted out. Over the final 200 Metres, DOUBLE PLEASURE got its head on the side and hung in. Because of this, D Whyte, its rider, changed the whip into his right hand. Throughout the race, KING OF SPADES raced wide and without cover. BARRACUDA and SPECIFIC SORCEROR were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BARRACUDA after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, SPECIFIC SORCEROR was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was mildly distressed. Before being allowed to race again, SPECIFIC SORCEROR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. COURAGEOUSHEART and DOUBLE PLEASURE were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported DOUBLE PLEASURE had sustained a laceration to the right front fetlock.
