Racing Incident Report
TELECOM CAESAR and WIN FOR ABALONE were slow to begin. As the gates opened, LONGMARK put its head down and began awkwardly. BAYVIEW LAD began awkwardly. ACME OF SURPRISE was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards attempted to buck and lost ground. As ACME OF SURPRISE has performed similarly in the past, the horse will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial before being permitted to race again. Near the 1100 Metres, ASIA STAR got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of LONGMARK. At the 1000 Metres, WIN FOR ABALONE was steadied away from the heels of GOOD FRIENDS. In the middle stages, RENA'S WUNDERBAR got its head on the side and hung in away from ETERNAL FUN. Near the 400 Metres, WIN FOR ABALONE brushed the running rail. For some distance after straightening, RENA'S WUNDERBAR was held up and unable to obtain clear running between ASIA STAR and UNIVERSAL GLORY. Near the 300 Metres, WIN FOR ABALONE was steadied and shifted to the inside of GOOD FRIENDS to obtain clear running. Prior to the 200 Metres, BAYVIEW LAD was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY ENCOUNTER which shifted out slightly. After the 200 Metres, GOOD FRIENDS was steadied when disappointed for running between LONGMARK and ASIA STAR. Over the final 200 Metres, LUCKY ENCOUNTER (D Whyte) hung in, near the 100 Metres shifted in abruptly and bumped UNIVERSAL GLORY. Because of this, D Whyte stopped riding and straightened his mount. Near the 100 Metres, ETERNAL FUN, which was giving ground, was steadied away from the heels of UNIVERSAL GLORY which shifted out slightly. Throughout the race, ETERNAL FUN raced wide and without cover. ACME OF SURPRISE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ACME OF SURPRISE after the race did not show any significant findings. EASY GAME and WIN FOR ABALONE were sent for sampling.
