Racing Incident Report
ROMANTIC SYMPHONY was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, WHATABOB lost its position when crowded for room between DRAGON AND GOLD which shifted out away from ABLE EAGLE after initially being carried out by that horse and GRAND FIGHTER which shifted in after being bumped by GREAT ACHIEVEMENT which was crowded for room inside TCHAIKOVSKY. No action was taken. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, GREAT ACHIEVEMENT got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of GRAND FIGHTER. Near the 200 Metres, LUCKY DANSKE commenced to hang out, shifted ground and made contact with the hindquarters of GREAT ACHIEVEMENT. After this, GREAT ACHIEVEMENT shifted in and caused further inconvenience to LUCKY DANSKE which as a result was steadied. At the 200 Metres, WHATABOB was steadied away from the heels of GRAND FIGHTER which shifted out. Then after the 100 Metres, WHATABOB was again steadied when unable to improve between GRAND FIGHTER and DRAGON AND GOLD. O Doleuze (SUCCESSOR) said he had been instructed to lead on the horse. He said on jumping SUCCESSOR shifted in and bumped TCHAIKOVSKY. He said after this TCHAIKOVSKY was ridden along to go forward and he also rode SUCCESSOR along to clear that runner. He said after the 1000 Metres when he went forward of TCHAIKOVSKY which was steadied to take a sit, he immediately stopped riding SUCCESSOR along and shifted in, however, it took him some time to get SUCCESSOR to relax and come back underneath him. He said whilst he appreciated the pace of the race in the early stages was fast, he believed he had only ridden in a manner to carry out his riding instructions. The explanation submitted by O Doleuze was accepted. KIMBERLEY MINES and LUCKY DANSKE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KIMBERLEY MINES and LUCKY DANSKE after the race did not show any significant findings. TCHAIKOVSKY and DILIGENT were sent for sampling.
