Racing Incident Report
HAPPY KID began awkwardly, got its head up and shifted in abruptly, causing crowding on its inside to ENRICHING and BIG WINNER, both of which were checked and lost their positions. SIMPLY THE BEST was slow to begin and making the turn at the 800 Metres hung in. When the gates opened, BRAVE COMMANDER bounded in the air and lost a little ground. Shortly afterwards, BRAVE COMMANDER was crowded for room between FORTUNE WARRIOR and KOWLOON TREASURE. Following this, BRAVE COMMANDER was ridden along to maintain its position between FORTUNE WARRIOR and KOWLOON TREASURE, was not able to do so when FORTUNE WARRIOR shifted in slightly and as a consequence BRAVE COMMANDER was checked. After the 1200 Metres, BRAVE COMMANDER was checked when crowded for room inside LUCKY CORDELIA which at this time was carried in by KOWLOON TREASURE which got its head on the side and shifted away from MASTER ABLE. No action was taken. After this, KOWLOON TREASURE continued to race ungenerously and shifted ground on a number of occasions. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, HAPPY KID was steadied to avoid the heels of ENRICHING which after racing wide and without cover at this time was steadied in an endeavour to shift back into a position behind BIG WINNER. At the 250 Metres, LUCKY CORDELIA and UPPA HAND, which was giving ground, became unbalanced when crowded for room inside FORTUNE WARRIOR (D Holland) which momentarily shifted in. As D Holland stopped riding and straightened his mount, no action was taken. BEST FOR ALL was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BEST FOR ALL after the race did not show any significant findings. The performances of BEST FOR ALL and BIG WINNER, which tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEST FOR ALL and BIG WINNER will both have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LUCKY CORDELIA and SAND DANCE were sent for sampling.
