Racing Incident Report

On jumping, ELEPHANT DANCE was bumped by TIGER RIDGE which shifted in. EVERGREEN and CHALLENGER were slow to begin. At the 1200 Metres, SPARKLING STAR became unbalanced after being bumped by HAIL THE STORM. After the 200 Metres, TIGER RIDGE was bumped by HAIL THE STORM which shifted out. Shortly after this, TIGER RIDGE was momentarily steadied away from the heels of HAIL THE STORM which continued to shift out. C Soumillon (AMAZING VICTORY) said the horse usually hangs left and resents attempts made to hold it close to the rail. He said because of this today after AMAZING VICTORY had travelled well in the lead he decided on straightening to ride the horse along and when it commenced to hang out he continued to ride along to allow the horse to maintain its momentum. He said despite drifting wider on the track AMAZING VICTORY clearly finished the race off better than it had when he had attempted to hold it on the rail. HAPPY PARTNERS was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, HAPPY PARTNERS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY PARTNERS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HAIL THE STORM, NOBLE SILENCE and AMAZING VICTORY were sent for sampling.
