Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, THUNDER MAN bounded in the air, lost ground and was then taken across behind runners. On jumping, KING OF WIN was crowded for room between GOLD FIELD and PERFETTO which shifted out. Making the first turn, SUPER WONGCHOY was bumped and carried wider by BOUNTIFUL which shifted ground after making contact with FUJI SUNRISE which got its head up and shifted out. Also making the first turn, PERFETTO proved difficult to settle. In the early stages, SMART HORSE raced wide and without cover. After the 1400 Metres, THUNDER MAN became unbalanced when racing tight inside the hindquarters of FUJI SUNRISE. At the 1200 Metres, THUNDER MAN hung out and was steadied away from the heels of FUJI SUNRISE. After the 1200 Metres, LUCKY STALLION was steadied away from the heels of TEMMOKU. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, PERFETTO was steadied when awkwardly placed between GOLD FIELD and THOUSAND WINS which shifted to the outside of FAIRPLAY. In the early part of the Straight, TEMMOKU had difficulty obtaining clear running between LUCKY STALLION and FAIRPLAY which got its head on the side and shifted out when giving ground. Approaching the 200 Metres, GOLD FIELD shifted in abruptly when being ridden out and bumped SMART HORSE. At the 200 Metres, GOLD FIELD then shifted out abruptly, resulting in S Sanders, its rider, having to stop riding and straighten. When GOLD FIELD shifted out abruptly, SUPER WONGCHOY was momentarily steadied to avoid that horse's heels. S Dye (FUJI SUNRISE) was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels right to the winning post where possible. KING OF WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KING OF WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. BOUNTIFUL, ZERUBBABEL and GOLD FIELD were sent for sampling.
