Racing Incident Report
DETERMINATION, 2nd Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 30.12.04 on veterinary grounds (sore right fore tendon). Before being allowed to race again, DETERMINATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the gates opened, BEST LUCK put its head down and began awkwardly. On jumping, JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE stumbled, shifted out and bumped CLASSIC DELIGHT which had been a little slow to begin. As a consequence, CLASSIC DELIGHT lost further ground. Also on jumping, OKANAGAN shifted in and bumped NORTHERN GOLD BALL. NOBLE SILENCE was slow to begin. Rounding the Home Turn, EXPECTATIONS raced tight inside JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE when endeavouring to shift to the outside of AMAZING VICTORY. The performance of GREEN WARRIOR, which finished distanced, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GREEN WARRIOR will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CLASSIC DELIGHT and BEARCAT were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CLASSIC DELIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, BEARCAT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, BEARCAT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BEST LUCK and EXPECTATIONS were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 3 January 2005)
After the race, AMAZING VICTORY was examined by the Veterinary Officer at the request of Trainer J Moore. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
