Racing Incident Report
After being boxed, SUN AND ZAMEEN reared and sat down behind. The horse was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said after the necessary consultations it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, SUN AND ZAMEEN will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. OH GREAT was slow to begin. From the outside gate, KING ERIE was immediately steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position on the rail but at the rear. CHOSEN ONE was a little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was crowded for room between SMILING FOREST and ONLY YOU, both of which shifted ground. Shortly after the start, SIR HUMOR became unbalanced when being steadied whilst awkwardly placed between A-TACK and RARE COLLECTION which shifted in away from KIMBO KID. As a result of this, SIR HUMOR lost ground. In the early and middle stages, ONLY YOU raced wide and without cover. At the 900 Metres, CHOSEN ONE got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of ONLY YOU. After the 700 Metres, RARE COLLECTION was steadied to avoid the heels of ONLY YOU which shifted in when just clear. After this, RARE COLLECTION continued to be awkwardly placed on the heels of ONLY YOU, was checked, shifted out and severely hampered CHOSEN ONE which was carried wider. Shortly after this incident, SMILING FOREST was checked when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUN AND ZAMEEN and tight inside RARE COLLECTION which at this time shifted back in. No action was taken. After the 200 Metres, CANNONISE was inclined to hang out. Because of this, G Mossé, its rider, changed the whip into his left hand. G Schofield (KIMBO KID) said he had been instructed to lead if circumstances permit. He said KIMBO KID began well, he rode along in the early stages and gained a slight advantage on KAO AND MING which was racing on his inside. He said he noted that horse was being hard ridden to hold the fence and therefore bearing in mind KIMBO KID had to carry 132 lbs he elected to steady and take a seat on the outside of KAO AND MING. He said in his opinion bearing in mind the horse's weight to have persevered going forward to lead KAO AND MING would have been detrimental to his chances. When questioned, G Mossé (CANNONISE) said making the turn at the 1000 Metres he shifted in to a position with cover behind KIMBO KID. He said as he did this KIMBO KID steadied in front, as a consequence CANNONISE raced close to its heels, proved difficult to settle and because of this he shifted out. He said near the 900 Metres he again looked to shift back to a position behind KIMBO KID with cover, however, at this time SIR HUMOR had improved towards its inside, as such he was not clear to shift in and therefore continued to race in a three wide position without cover. ONLY YOU and SUN AND ZAMEEN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, ONLY YOU was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ONLY YOU will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Also after the race, SUN AND ZAMEEN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed blood present in the horse's right nasal passage, however, its trachea was clean. Therefore SUN AND ZAMEEN was not deemed to have bled. SIR HUMOR, A-TACK and KIMBO KID were sent for sampling.
