Racing Incident Report
DANRIVA, NOBLE CHAMPION and DETERMINATION were slow to begin. With the intention of being ridden in a rearward position tonight, KIDDYLAND was taken back at the start and shifted in to a position closer to the rail. GOLCONDA shifted in at the start and bumped FAMOUS DANCER. On a number of occasions passing the 1200 Metres, VICTORY WARRIOR got its head up when being steadied. CELESTIAL STEEL, which was following, was steadied off the heels of VICTORY WARRIOR in consequence. In the middle stages, HONOUR SUPREME lay out. Near the 500 Metres, HONOUR SUPREME (A Delpech) was shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CELESTIAL STEEL. CHEEKY, which was following HONOUR SUPREME, improved to be racing tight inside the heels of that horse and a short distance later was checked when HONOUR SUPREME shifted in. DANRIVA, which was following CHEEKY, was hampered in consequence. A Delpech was advised to exercise care in similar circumstances. Rounding the Home Turn, DETERMINATION was checked off the heels of VICTORY WARRIOR. Near the 200 Metres, SHANGHAI KING and DETERMINATION were both crowded for room when attempting a narrow run between VICTORY WARRIOR and ARABIAN WAGER which shifted in slightly when tiring. In this incident, DETERMINATION bumped the hindquarters of ARABIAN WAGER which became unbalanced, shifted out and inconvenienced FAMOUS DANCER. Close to the line, NOBLE CHAMPION was steadied and shifted out off the heels of FAMOUS DANCER. FAMOUS DANCER was obliged to race wide and without cover throughout the race. D Whyte, the rider of FAMOUS DANCER, reported his mount hung in throughout the event. HONOUR SUPREME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HONOUR SUPREME after the race did not show any significant findings. KIDDYLAND and CELESTIAL STEEL were sent for sampling.
