Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, DEFLECT was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion the horse was suitable to race. BEST GIFT began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. Shortly after jumping, NATIVE LANGUAGE and DARTER were crowded for room between ZERO IN and ADD THE FUN (D Whyte) which shifted in. Shortly after this, NATIVE LANGUAGE and DARTER were checked when crowded for room between ZERO IN which shifted out slightly and ADD THE FUN which got its head on the side, shifted in and made contact with DARTER. As a result of this contact, ADD THE FUN shifted further as a consequence of being turned in. D Whyte was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten sooner than he did on this occasion. Near the 1100 Metres, DOUBLE HAPPINESS was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FAIRPLAY and tight inside WINNING CAT. BEST GIFT made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly, shifted out and was steadied away from the hindquarters of DOUBLE HAPPINESS. DARTER and FAVOURITE EXPRESS, which were being ridden in a rearward position from a wide barrier today, were hampered and carried wider. Over the concluding stages, ZERO IN hung out. ADD THE FUN, BEING FAMOUS and BEST GIFT were sent for sampling.
