Racing Incident Report

On jumping, HARVEST got its head up and lost ground. UNIVERSAL PIONEER began awkwardly. Near the 1100 Metres, GRAND MASTER got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SIR HUMOR which shifted in when only just clear. After the 500 Metres, HAPPY KID lost ground when being steadied away from the heels of FUNNY FACE which was giving ground. Prior to straightening, LUCKY CORDELIA was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of HARVEST. After the 400 Metres, LUCKY CORDELIA was again steadied when disappointed for running inside BARFOLD HERO. Near the 300 Metres, FUNNY FACE, which was giving ground quickly, became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of LUCKY CORDELIA (Apprentice H W Lai) which shifted out in an endeavour to find clear running. Apprentice Lai was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, BARFOLD HERO was held up and unable to improve when behind SIR HUMOUR which was giving ground. Passing the 200 Metres, HARVEST had some difficulty obtaining clear running. Near the 100 Metres, LUCKY CORDELIA was checked when unable to obtain clear running between GRAND MASTER and HARVEST. For the major part of the Straight, UNIVERSAL PIONEER hung in and proved difficult to ride. GRAND MASTER, PEARL OF INDIA, UNIVERSAL PIONEER were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported SIR HUMOR was making an abnormal breathing noise.
