Racing Incident Report
WIN FOR ALL was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, WIN FOR ALL will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. KING OF THE TURF was slow to begin. SPLIT SECONDS was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was checked when crowded for room between PHOENIX FORTUNE which shifted in and GALLANT FALCON which on jumping was carried out by LUCKY CHAMPION. With the intention to be ridden in a rearward position from a gate towards the outside, NIGHT NINJA was steadied and taken back across behind runners to a position with cover. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, LUCKY CHAMPION became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNING POWER. At the 100 Metres, PHOENIX FORTUNE was checked when crowded for room between FLYING SUCCESS which shifted out and LUCKY KING which shifted in away from KING OF THE TURF which itself was shifting in. R Fradd (MILITARY OPTION) explained after the 400 Metres he intended to improve between PHOENIX FORTUNE and SPLIT SECONDS. He said however SPLIT SECONDS shifted out, as a result he steadied and then shifted to the inside of that horse. He said after this he rode MILITARY OPTION along hands and heels, near the 200 Metres was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNING POWER and shifted to the outside of that horse. He said after this he rode MILITARY OPTION out strongly hands and heels in the run to the line and the horse closed the race off nicely. When questioned, S Dye (NIGHT NINJA) said at the 1200 Metres when he was racing to the outside of KING OF THE TURF, the pace steadied and when KING OF THE TURF continued to race away from the rail, it obliged him to race without cover. He said because of the slow tempo of the race, he was not able to steady NIGHT NINJA to come back behind KING OF THE TURF into a position with cover. LUCKY CHAMPION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, LUCKY CHAMPION was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY CHAMPION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WIN FOR ALL and GALLANT FALCON were sent for sampling.
