Racing Incident Report

BROWN BEAUTY was slow to begin. SILLY BOY, which was leaning against the inside of its stall when the gates opened, began awkwardly and lost ground. On jumping, ONLY YOU and HONEY MONEY bumped. MAMOUSKA and SOLAR began awkwardly. After the 1300 Metres, SOLAR clipped the heels of KING OF THE TURF and blundered. The occurrence in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental. After the 400 Metres, CLAWS OF THUNDER was carried wider after being brushed by MAMOUSKA which at this time was shifting to the outside of EVEREST into clear running. After the 300 Metres, BROWN BEAUTY, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted to the outside of EVEREST. Near the 200 Metres, ONLY YOU, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied away from the heels of HONEY MONEY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from EVEREST which also shifted in. No action was taken. After the 200 Metres, NOBLE ZOOM and LUCKY CORDELIA were crowded for room inside MASTER MARAUDER which got its head on the side and shifted in away from HONEY MONEY. LUCKY CORDELIA, CHING HOI BOY and SILLY BOY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, LUCKY CORDELIA and SILLY BOY were examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a moderate amount of mucus in the horses' trachea. Also after the race, CHING HOI BOY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a moderate amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY CORDELIA, SILLY BOY and CHING HOI BOY will all be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EVEREST, KING OF THE TURF and BROWN BEAUTY were sent for sampling.
